Visitor Comments: While reading some of the entries on the web site, I suddenly remembered that there was a girl I went to school with in Fort St. John whose last name was Talbot.That would have been about 1963-64. I can't remember her first name, but I remember Dad (Donald Earl Nash)saying that we were "kissing cousins". I'm in Arizona for the winter, but will have to dig out my School Year Book and have a look and see if she is there. I can't remember her first name...that was a long time ago! Will keep you posted. Who knows? maybe she'll read this and remember me??

I am the son of Dennis Wilfred Nash Sr, my dad's date of birth was October 13, 2007. He is listed a Wilfrey or Bill and is the seventh child of Thomas and Sara. My Uncle James Edward Nash date of birth was October 6, 1908. He was 51 weeks younger that my dad. So if Uncle Al's date of birth is correct, my dad was the seventh child and Uncle Jim would be the eight child. Also Uncle Pete was the youngest of the boys. My mother is Dorothy Barbara Eberly the second spouse of Dennis. His first spouses name was Licille.

I now have Alice Nash's birth certificate. She was born 1 March 1854. No father is listed but mother is Sarah Nash. Their address is Clay Lane End, West Dean. I believe that the father of William and Richard Nash may have been the elder Richard Nash, born about 1779 in West Dean. I would like to know if you or others have reached this conclusion and/or have uncovered earlier generations.
In addition, I have discovered interesting information about Old Sling Pit Iron Mine and other iron and coal mines owned by the Nashes in the Forest of Dean.

This site is great and is finally putting together some missing pieces for me. Thomas Nash and Sarah Jane Cooksey Nash are my great grandparents. My gandfather was Edward James ("Jim") Nash, their seventh child (given name was actually Vivian Edward Nash!). I am the son of Thomas Henry Nash, third child of Edward James Nash and Elizabeth (Betty or Bertha) Zenker (who passed away this past April).
Thank you for filling in some missing pieces, particularly the "disappearance" of Thomas Nash!

I found the website fascinating. My greatgrandfather Milson Nash was born at Sling Pit in 1871. His father George Nash was an Iron Miner born 1819 at West Dean who married Sara Dew from Bicknor. My aunt Eva Briggs (formerly Nash) told me that there was a large extended family of Nash's there and that they 'owned a coal mine' in the past? I'm not sure about that but they came up to Yorkshire as coal miners - my grandfather Arthur Milson Nash was born in Castleford worked as a coal miner) and his daughter (my mother) is Valerie Nash. I have not checked earliercensus but I did wonder if there was a connection?

My Dad was Donald Earl Nash, son of Ada and Daniel Miles Nash. He was born in auburn Washington June 23, 1921. His family returned to southern Alberta shortly after his birth. Daniel (his dad) passed away when Dad was just 3 years old. Donald had 2 brothers and one sister. Harold Nash was the eldest, then Ruby (Soren Holmgaard), then Jim Nash.
Harold's wife (Mabel) and daughter Shirley live in California. I will get Shirley's email address for you as Mabel may have more information re;birthdates etc.
Donald Earl and Dorothy Freda(Staton) had four children;

I found it interesting to visit your website. The photo of a soldier is not familiar to me BUT I found it uncanny to see some physical similarities to my own family members - particularly the wavy hair.
I was born in England so the chances of being connected to the American Nashes is very slim.
